The Dr. Karam Dental Clinic offers preventive care for all those who wish to prevent dental problems.
A dental examination is essential at regular intervals. We offer a screening and diagnostic service for oral problems, abnormalities and injuries of the dentition, gums and jaws. Our dentists perform an oral examination to check for cavities, infections, defective fillings, oral cancers and other diseases that may be present in the mouth.
Even with good oral hygiene, it is necessary to visit your dentist for a teeth cleaning to remove plaque, tartar and stains that may be present on your teeth. Polishing the various surfaces of your teeth is also part of professional dental cleaning. Dental cleaning is a necessary complement to good oral hygiene in addition to brushing and flossing. In some cases, dental sealants may be recommended.

restorations
Restorations help restore a tooth damaged by decay or replace old, defective fillings.
White fillings, using composite resin, are the most commonly used because they can faithfully reproduce the color of the tooth. Dental amalgam can also be used in certain specific cases but much less often than composite.

The crowns
and bridges
Dental crowns are used by dentists to restore a badly damaged tooth. It is made of ceramic only or metal and ceramic.
Indications: to cover a tooth that has a root canal, to restore a tooth that has lost a lot of its original structure, to restore a fractured tooth, to cover an implant, to cover a tooth that has a large filling and is at risk of fracturing. The bridge is made up of ceramic crowns that are paired together and attached to the teeth, used to replace one or more missing teeth.

Pediatric dentistry is at the heart of our specialty. The treatments are similar to adult treatments, with a few exceptions.
Our pediatric consultation includes one of the following: prevention, caries treatment, fluoride application, plaque control and oral hygiene education.
The first visit to a dentist is recommended between 6 months and 1 year, when the first teeth are growing. A regular follow-up by your dentist is necessary from about 3 years of age.

The treatments
endodontics
or root canal therapy
Root canal treatment is necessary in cases of deep caries (damage to the dental pulp), infection or dental pain.
It consists of removing the nerves of the tooth that are in the roots, cleaning, disinfecting and filling with a cement and a special product called Gutta Percha.
Root canal treatment can weaken the tooth, which is why we often recommend placing a ceramic crown on the tooth to prevent fracture.
